Bright spring sunshine graced St. Enda's Park, Rathfarnham on Wednesday 16th March for the annual meeting of the Dublin Cross Country Championships for primary schools, now in its seventh year.
Hosted by Owen McLoughlin of Whitechurch Primary School and Rathfarnham Athletics Club, the occasion was once again an outstanding success.
A strong representation of 34 athletes from St.Brigid's took to the starting line for this competitive event.
For the second year in succession St. Brigid's took first place in the team competition and retained the Cross Country Championship perpetual trophy.
Individual honours went to Niall O Leary ( 6th class) who was first over the finishing line, to be followed by his brother Mark ( 4th class ) in 3rd place( a truly magnificient performance ).Daniel Flatman ((6th class) was in 4th position followed by Sam Murphy(6th class) in 6th position. All 34 athletes completed the two lap race.
