On Thursday and Friday,April 19th and 20th 2012 our two fifth classes participated in a music workshop called Simply Music.The following paragraphs are from the reflections of some boys in fifth class who participated in the workshop.
" Last Thursday and Friday we participated in a music workshop.Paul, our teacher, created a computer program which taught us how to play amazingly fast.I played the triangle.We also learned to play on something called a boomwhacker.All in all we had a great time." Ruairí Greene.
" Paul, an ex-percussionist from the national Symphony Ortchestra was our teacher and conductor.We used cow-bells, finger cymbals,triangles, wood-blocks,darabouka, a go-go-bell,chime bars and shakers.I played the darabouka which is a type of drum.It was great fun." Finn McGrath
Paul developed a computer programme to help us learn quickly.We played "This Old Man","Frere Jacques" and "Twinkle Twinkle". We all played our instruments at the same time but with different rhythms backed by the djembe on the screen.We performed two concerts for other classes on Friday. Donal McKeown.
