E-mail Print PDF

Bhí spórt is spraoi ag gach duine i rith Seachtain na Gaeilge i mbliana. Irish Language Week provides us all with an opportunity to use the Irish that we know and to participate in various events and activities.

Ghlac gach páiste sa scoil páirt sa cheolchoirm ag deireadh na seachtaine. Bhí idir dáin, amhráin, drámaí, mairseáil agus fiú an “Haca Gaelach” ar siúl ag na ranganna éagsúla. Bhí réimse iontach uirlisí le cloisteáil chomh maith. Sheinn Robert Naughton ar an gCláirseach, Mark Hughes ar na spúnóga adhmaid, Gavin Dooley ar an Bodhrán agus Conor Flannery ar an bhFidil. Sheinn ranganna 4, 5 agus 6 ar an bhfeadóg stáin.

Comhghairdeas le gach duine! Is léir go bhfuil spiorad agus traidisiún an chultúir gaelach go brí beomhar i Scoil Naomh Bríde! Well done to all the boys on actively participating in Seachtain na Gaeilge. The school concert certainly confirmed that the spirit and traditions of our Irish culture is alive and well in St. Brigid's! Check out the photos of our ceolchoirm!

Cuairt ó bhanna ceoil Coláiste Eoin / Íosagáin

E-mail Print PDF

The Traditional Music Band from Coláiste Eoin / Íosagáin came to play for us as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge events. We enjoyed listening to the many tunes played by a wide range of instruments. It didn't take long before we were all clapping and tapping to the beat enthusiastically! Among the instruments being played were; the concert flute, uilleann pipes, bazooca, fiddle, bosca ceoil, banjo, snare drum and tin whistle.

However, not to be outdone, the Brigid's boys showed their wonderful range of talents also as they played alongside Pat O' Connor, our tin whistle Teacher. Conor Flannery on the fiddle and Robert Naughton on the harp and the senior boys on the tin whistle showed how all their practice has certainly paid off! The 6th class boys had us all clapping loudly with their version of the “Haca Gaelach”.
