In the summer 2011 term, the school entered the Tidy Schools in the Community Competition 2011, organised by Dun Laoghaire Co.Co. in recognition of the work that schools do in an effort to keep their grounds neat and litter free.
We are delighted to say that in Sept it was announced that our school won the title of "Best School with little or no Green Space". The school was represented by 6th class pupils, Ian Forde and Eamonn Flannery at the prizegiving ceremony and collect a cheque -250 euro - for the school.A plaque and a certificate are now displayed on the noticeboard at the school entrance.
The school received top marks in the categories- "Absence of Littter" and "Graffiti in School Grounds".Other high marks were awarded for absence of litter and neatness on walkways leading to school.
The comments made by the judges highlighted the planting around the school and the extremely neat and tidy yard.
Well done to all the boys who participated in the daily litter pick and for taking pride in the appearance of our school.A great achievement.
