E-mail Print PDF

The boys in Ms Hayes' fifth class recently sold " Friendship Bracelets "  to support Amnesty International. The woven, woollen bracelets were made by street children in Guatemala. As usual, St. Brigid's boys were extremely generous and  an amazing €1,320  was raised to support this worthwhile cause.Tributes were paid to them by Tommy Roche of Amnesty International Ireland  for their fundraising efforts - " one of the best schools in Dublin for fundraising ."Well done to all.

E-mail Print PDF

Bhí Seachtain na Gaeilge againn sa scoil. Rinne gach duine iarracht Gaeilge a labhairt i rith na seachtaine.

Ghlac gach rang páirt i gCeolchoirm san halla. Bhí idir amhráin, dánta, comhrá, feadóg stáin agus fiú " rap " ar siúl ag na ranganna difriúla.

Mar is léir ó na griangrafanna bhaineamar lán-taithneamh as an gCeolchoirm.Bhuaigh buachaill amháin ó gach rang teastas speisialta "Dalta na Seachtaine". Rinne na buachaillí seo sár-iarracht an Ghaeilge a labhairt agus a usáid ar scoil. Maith sibh.

S'iad na buachaillí a bhuaigh an teastas seo ná :

SECOND CLASS HARD AT WORK IN THE COMPUTER ROOM

World Maths Day 2009 was on Wed 4th March. It was a world wide event and so it began for us here in St Brigid's on Tuesday at 11.00 ( 4th March began in New Zealand at this time ) and finished on Thursday at 11.00, 48 hours later!

The challenge was to answer as many maths questions as possible during that time and to try and beat last years record of 185,443.085.

Each game was a series one minute quick fire mental maths questions with 4 children from anywhere in the world competing against each other in each game. That doesn't seem too hard

All classes in the school competed in the challenge.

Yes, last years total was easily beaten with a remarkable 455,678,934 maths question answered ( correctly ) in that time.

What a challenge for 2010!
