Third class boys made balloon rockets.

These were made using balloons, fishing wire, straws and cellotape.

The boys can be seen in the following photographs testing their " rockets" to see how far they could travel.

Simply Music

SIMPLY MUSIC EXTRAVAGANZA

SIMPLY MUSIC WORKSHOP.

November started with a “bang” literally  in St. Brigids on returning from the Halloween break.

On Monday and Tuesday 2nd/3rd November, the 5th class boys participated in an Interactive Technology Music Workshop entitled “ Simply  Music”.

It was facilitated by Paul Maher from the National Symphony Orchestra. It proved to be an enriching and truly educational experience for the boys.

They were exposed to a vast array of percussion instruments on which they played various rhythmical patterns in response to visual prompts.

Both classes gave three magnificent performances to all the classes in the school.

Our selection of photographs from the day show the infants classes enjoying the occasion..

Second Class Educational visit to Knocksink Wood

E-mail Print PDF
Second Class visit to Knocksink Wood.

Both second classes had a most enjoyable and rewarding time when they visited Knocksink Wood in October 2009.
They boys were taken on an interesting nature trail through the forest reserve.During the walk, the children were busily occupied searching for various insects and animal prints.
Luckily, the supervisors were most helpful and the worksheets had lots of useful clues!
A great day was enjoyed by all.
These photographs give a flavour of the day.
