Minutes of Meeting held on Wednesday 14th September 2011

Treasurer’s Report

• €812.98 1st September 2011. The bank incorrectly lodged monies into the Parents Association account and then debited it without authorisation. The bank sent a letter of apology.

Matters Arising

• Notes are going to be sent out soon regarding nominees for the schools’ Board of Management.
• Claire is also going to be looking for volunteers for the Christmas fair. The 1st letter regarding the Christmas fair will be issued soon.
• The date for the Christmas fair will be the 27th of November. Logistics and auxilliary costs were discussed.
• How can the Parents Association keep costs down in general ? A few suggestions discussed.
• Joanna will clarify the issue of class collections for teachers and revert to Pat and Aedeen this month.
• Banking charges are to be negotiated with the hope of reducing the fee for the Christmas fair coin counting. Anne is also going to look into rearranging the account to be more user friendly.
• The AGM date is to be confirmed with the school principals.
• Ms Sheehan and Ms O’Connell were very grateful for the presentation made to them at their retirement lunch. They thanked the parents for all their involvement and support over the years

Boys Board of Management

• Meeting to be held on the 26th September 2011.

Educational Committee

• Joanna to secure date for Rory Mulvey.
• Gabrielle O'Herlihy has offered to give a speech regarding self esteem and bullying. Joanna will try to confirm her for before or directly after the mid-term.

Tea Committee

• A big thank you to the senior infant parents who contributed to and helped at the junior infant tea and coffee event.
