Dear Parents,

Firstly, thank you to all parents who have generously donated a prize and/or time to the Christmas Fair.  It really is your support which makes the Fair such a success.

Here's how and when you can help further:-

Raffle Tickets- Your children will have already brought home tickets for the main Raffle. Please ensure that ticket stubs and money are returned ASAP. Additional tickets are available from the teachers if required.  There are some truly great prizes this year, for both the main Raffle and Children's Raffle (tickets out soon) so please buy/sell as many as you can.  All proceeds will be given directly to the schools for the benefit of our children. The Raffle Draw will take place at 4pm during the Fair.

Soft Cuddly Toys- Unwanted cuddly toys can be re-homed!!  Bring them into the class for the teddy stall before Fri 19th November (both schools).  Please ensure that they are in good condition and washed.

Bottles- Collected by school gates of both schools during the mornings of Weds 26th-Fri 28th November.  Please raid your cupboards and donate any full, unopened bottles of wine or spirits for our hugely popular bottle stall.  We would like to ask each family to donate at least 1 bottle.

Toys/Games/Books/DVDs/Cakes- Please bring to Hall of Boys School on Sat 27th November  2-4pm.  Please ensure all toys are in good condition with all parts present, your books are neither ripped nor have pages missing. Please don't bring coloring books, magazines or books which are written in!

Cream Cake collection- Sun 28th Nov from 12pm in boy’s school.

Each year we lose money by paying for unsuitable donations to be "dumped" at Ballyogan.  Please go through all of your donations carefully.  If you wouldn't buy it, please don't bring it!

For those of you who have so kindly offered to help on the Saturday or the Sunday, one of us will be in contact with you a few days before the fair to confirm.

Many thanks for your continued support, it is very much appreciated.

Christmas Fair – Sunday 28th November 2010

WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!!!!

  • We are still in urgent need of raffle prizes.  We know it has been a difficult year for everyone, but if you are in a position to donate a prize or monetary contribution – no matter how small – we would be very grateful.
  • We would also like to appeal to anyone who knows of any businesses who you feel would be in a position to help us – please let us know. Naturally, we are already in the process of targeting our local stores and shops.
  • Helpers on the Fair weekend.  Without you we cannot run the stalls.  We will be grateful for whatever help you can give....even an hour on either day will be a huge help.

The raffle tickets go to print on Thursday, 21st October. Please fill in the slip below and return it to the class teacher as soon as possible if you haven't already done so.

The success of the Christmas Fair depends entirely on the support it receives.

Sincere thanks for your continued support.

Dear Parents,

The Christmas Fair, which benefits our girls and boys, needs your support to be successful.

The Christmas Fair is the main fund raising event each year for the St Brigid’s Boys and St Brigid’s Girls Schools. It is organised by the Parents Association and this year it will take place on Sunday 28th November, from 2-6pm, in St Brigid’s Boys School. The two schools depend on the success of the Christmas Fair to fund initiatives and activities that really benefit our girls and boys.

The 2009 Christmas Fair raised a staggering €33,000!!!!! It was allocated equally between the schools and enabled them to invest in laptops and whiteboards as well as fund various workshops (e.g. drama, dance) and school trips (e.g. fishing).

The success of the Christmas Fair depends on the support it receives.

How can you help?

Prizes for the Raffle. We are hoping to sell 10,000 raffle tickets but to do so we need attractive prizes. Prizes can be just about anything desirable (e.g. iPhone/iPad, hamper, case of wine, Nintendo, weekend away, painting, HD TV, etc).If you wish to donate please contact Debbie / Claire. You can also help by buying lots of raffle tickets!

Items for the stalls. There will be numerous stalls at the Christmas Fair selling books, toys, games, cakes, etc. If you have such items that you could donate please contact Debbie/Claire. You can also help by buying on the day!

Volunteers. People are urgently needed to help organise and run the many different stalls and events at the Christmas Fair. You can volunteer, and even a little time makes a difference, by contacting Debbie / Claire. You can also help by supporting stalls and events on the day!

In addition to benefitting our children, the Christmas Fair is a great family day, with many enjoyable activities, opportunities to meet other parents, and have lots of fun. Hope to see you 28th November.

Thank you for whatever supports you can provide.

Debbie Dettling & Claire Walsh
